Vehicle registrations on the decline

Vehicle registrations last month stood at 47,685, a two percent decrease from 48,708 in the previous month, said CAL Research in a report on vehicle registrations.

Quoting statistics given by the Department of Vehicle Registration, it said however, the figures were higher than those in 2018.

Motorcycles accounted for 32,768, or 69 pc, of the registrations in October, taking the total increase to 72 pc for the current year so far.

A total of 9,205 cars were registered during the month with a nine pc decline.

Also, 2,541 three wheelers were registered in October.

Registrations of lorries and buses rose seven pc to 1,068 and three pc to 131 respectively.
