Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa says that donations have become a problem as some political parties are not favour of donations.
The SLPP national organizer was referring to the controversial comments made by Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa recently at the inauguration of the first and only bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit in a government hospital, established with the financial support of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya.
During his address, Dr. Jayatissa scorned donations made by ardent devotees of the sacred Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya.
Speaking to the media yesterday (06), Rajapaksa said that the government should also be practical when implementing new laws. “If daily wage earners are harmed by cleaning three-wheelers and buses under the pretext of Clean Sri Lanka, it is a wrong act,” he said.
