The Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) has confirmed that it will not participate in the opposition rally scheduled for November 21 in Nugegoda, despite expressing full support for the initiative.
TPA Leader and Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan said the party backs the joint effort by opposition political parties to protest against the government, even though the TPA will not attend the rally in person.
The event, organised by a coalition of opposition parties including the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), and United National Party (UNP), marks the launch of a nationwide campaign targeting government policies.
Opposition party leaders indicated that future rallies across the country will focus on governance issues, corruption, and the perceived oppression of opposition parties by the ruling administration.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the Sarvajana Balaya (SB) had previously announced it would also refrain from attending the Nugegoda rally.
