The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has advised Sri Lanka’s Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) that meaningful transformation in the country requires a government to stay in power for 15 to 20 years, according to JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva.

He revealed that during his official visit to China, CCP leaders emphasized that meaningful change could not be achieved within just five years and that winning four or five consecutive elections would be essential to implement long-term reforms.

Silva made these remarks while participating in an online interview recently.
