The Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha, led by the National People’s Power (NPP), saw its budget rejected for the second time on Monday, with 14 councilors voting against it and 13 in favour.

All opposition members opposed the proposal.

On the same day, the inaugural budget of the Puttalam Municipal Council, also under NPP control, was defeated by a margin of five votes.
