President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has advised all government politicians to answer every telephone call they receive at every possible opportunity.

Answer calls from the public and take action to resolve their matters at your earliest, he told his ministers, deputy ministers and MPs at a meeting.

The president’s directive comes in the wake of allegations levelled against the government that politicians don’t answer telephone calls they receive from the general public and the media.
