Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva has revealed that neither he nor any other party member was informed about Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s visit to India.
Speaking on a television programme, the SJB lawmaker said he only learned about the visit through media reports.
During the programme, one of the hosts asked Dr. Harsha de Silva whether a visit of this nature should include a future Finance Minister, Prime Minister, or a minister responsible for reconciliation alongside the Opposition Leader.
While Dr. de Silva appeared to acknowledge the point, he did not make any statement on the matter.
He noted that even during parliamentary sessions yesterday (11), government MPs had made jabs at him over the matter although he had chosen not to respond to those references.
Dr. de Silva also said that he was unaware if the visit was due to an official invitation from the Indian government.
He added that upon returning to Sri Lanka, Sajith Premadasa is yet to share any details of the visit with the party.
