A total of 197 imported vehicles have been detained by Sri Lanka Customs in recent days.

The vehicles were held due to concerns regarding discrepancies related to their date of manufacture.

Under the regulations imposed by the government on vehicle imports, only vehicles manufactured within three years of their import date are allowed into the country.

Customs officials explained that the vehicles in question are being held until relevant reports are received from the respective manufacturers.
