The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) is seeking the assistance of Interpol to arrest individuals who have fled to foreign countries to evade investigations conducted by the Commission under the Anti-Corruption Act.

These individuals have been notified via WhatsApp, email and relevant embassies to come to the country to provide statements in connection with the investigations.

According to an investigating officer of the Commission, steps will be taken to report to the court and get Interpol to issue Red Notices to apprehend those who do not respond to the orders to return to Sri Lanka.

It is further revealed that among those who have fled are many high-ranking officials, including former cabinet ministers, members of parliament and chairpersons of state institutions.
