Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa says that some ministers’ asset declarations may contain inaccuracies.

Responding to questions about why certain ministers had reportedly failed to provide accurate details regarding the true value of their assets and salaries to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, Jayatissa said that while a substantial amount of information was submitted this year, discrepancies related to asset valuations may exist.

He added that such gaps are not uncommon given the volume of data and stressed that there remains an opportunity to correct any errors or omissions.

“There was a significant amount of detail expected to be submitted. Some shortcomings regarding valuations and asset values may have occurred, but these can be rectified,” he said.
