Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has condemned attempts by some claiming to be priests with the divine-eye to create tensions among religions.
Only the ones chosen by God can have the divine-eye, he told the opening of a new mission house at Thewatte Church in Ragama.
Making reference to a particular individual who claims to be so, the Cardinal said he was insulting religion and hurting Buddhists by claiming a person in monk’s robes as a healer.
He is a servant of a plot to create religious tensions, he said, adding that he condemned it wholeheartedly.
That person has gained a hold on the rich and the powerful to amass wealth and become a racketeer, he said.
