CID instructed to investigate Namal’s law degree

Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya says that he has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to initiate an investigation into how Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa obtained his law degree.

The Acting IGP stated that he had received several complaints over Namal’s completion of the law examination as being problematic.

He added that further investigations will be conducted after obtaining a recommendation from the Principal of the Sri Lanka Law College.
