In response to the widespread impact of Cyclone Ditwah, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has urged the public to contribute to relief efforts through verified channels to ensure donations reach affected communities efficiently.

The CBSL published official bank details for donations via an authorised link, providing a secure method for local and international well-wishers to support ongoing recovery operations:

“Please be mindful of unofficial requests and donate only through verified sources,” the CBSL said, highlighting the need to protect donors from potential fraud.

CBSL said the appeal reflects the surge of local and international goodwill in the aftermath of the cyclone, which caused extensive flooding and landslides across Sri Lanka, displacing thousands and resulting in hundreds of casualties.

The CBSL stressed that contributions made through the official channels will be directed toward the relief and rehabilitation of communities affected by the disaster, ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of funds.
