Foreign-backed push to promote homosexuality in Sri Lanka – Cardinal

His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has claimed that a group collaborating with foreign organizations is actively working to promote homosexuality in Sri Lanka.

The Cardinal revealed that certain political parties as well as some political leaders are also involved in this campaign.

He made these remarks during an event to confer the honorary title of Agga Maha Pandita, awarded by the Government of Myanmar, on Most Venerable Dr. Akuretiye Nanda Thero, Deputy Chancellor of Ruhuna University.

Also present at the occasion, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa emphasized the importance of safeguarding human rights in any forthcoming constitutional amendments, calling for special attention to this issue.
