Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to vacate official residence

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to leave his official residence on Wijerama Mawatha today (11).

A senior official of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said that the former President has decided to vacate the house after the Presidents’ Entitlements Removal Bill was passed in Parliament yesterday (10).

He is scheduled to leave the Wijerama Mawatha residence today afternoon and is expected to arrive at his Carlton House residence in Tangalle around 4 PM.

The SLPP has organized a ceremony to welcome him upon his arrival.
