Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe will facilitate a meeting of all political party leaders to discuss measures to address the challenges facing Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday (03) at Wickremesinghe’s political office in Colombo.

United National Party (UNP) Chairman Wajira Abeywardena said the forum will determine future steps, drawing on lessons from previous natural disasters managed under Wickremesinghe’s leadership.

Abeywardena added that the former president is expected to brief party leaders on actions taken during the floods of 2003 and 2016, including post-flood recovery efforts.

“This is the first time that all political party leaders, both inside and outside Parliament, are being convened in one place following a natural disaster,” Abeywardena added.
