Govt. has very small capacity; cannot act against Hiru Media – Nirmal Ranjith

The NPP regime is without the complex capacity required to maintain a repressive mechanism although it wants have such a grip, said Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri in a statement on his internet channel.

He said the government is disturbed by the Hiru Media Network’s recent reporting and looks to act against it, a matter that has led to a dialogue on media repression.

Referring to the government’s performance and capacity, Dewasiri noted its entire capability is at a low ebb.
