In light of the ongoing blood shortage at the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, the Indira Cancer Trust, in collaboration with Suwa Arana, will be hosting a special blood donation campaign on Thursday (May 05).

The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the hospital’s Blood Bank.

Held in commemoration of the Vesak festival, the initiative aims to harness the spirit of compassion and giving that defines the season while addressing an urgent public health need.

Apeksha Hospital, the country’s premier cancer treatment facility, has been experiencing a persistent shortage of blood, an issue that has placed patients requiring transfusions at increased risk.

The organisers invite members of the public to participate and support patients battling cancer and other serious illnesses.
