Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal has alleged that his recent fall at a public event was not accidental, but part of a calculated attempt to discredit the National People’s Power (NPP) movement.

Addressing the media, Mayor Jayalal claimed that he had tripped over a camera cable that had been deliberately lifted off the ground by a journalist while he was walking forward during the proceedings.

He said the timing and positioning of the cable suggest the act was not coincidental and was a deliberate act aimed at undermining the NPP.
