The government is yet to decide the future of the ministerial bungalows that remain closed for nearly a year now.

As a result, these facilities are facing severe neglect.

In addition to these, the cabinet is expected to take a decision with regard to several other buildings used by state officials until recently.

Public administration minister Dr. Chandana Abeyratne said ministers would shortly decide on their future.

More than 50 state and private sector institutions have requested that they be given the ministerial bungalows, which number 55 in Colombo city.
