Moragoda meets head of India’s National Human Rights Commission in Colombo

Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation and former Cabinet Minister Milinda Moragoda met with Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary General and CEO of India’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Colombo.

A veteran Indian civil servant with more than 35 years of public service, Bharat Lal assumed office at the NHRC in July 2023. His work has spanned governance reform, human rights, environmental conservation, and public service delivery with a focus on protecting marginalised and vulnerable communities, including women and tribal populations.

Prior to his current role, Bharat Lal served as Director General of India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), where he was instrumental in shaping key public policy initiatives.
