The NPP Moratuwa mayor has been accused by a female municipal employee of having solicited a sexual bribe, failing which, he had given her a transfer.

The woman has made the accusation in a complaint lodged with the Bribery Commission on 24 December and also with the police and the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission.

She complained that she got scared, felt shamed and helpless as a result of the demands made by him over a period of 1 ½ months.

Following her refusal to agree, the mayor misused his powers and transferred her to a maternity clinic, without recommendation by the head of the public health department, said the complainant, seeking justice through an inquiry.
