Natural disasters blamed on previous regimes

Flooding and other natural disasters are manmade, deputy minister Nalin Hewage said, blaming them on unauthorised constructions build during previous regimes on political affiliations.

Anyway, they need solutions, he said, stressing that no such constructions would be allowed in the future.

The president summoned district coordinating committee chairmen to Colombo to discuss disaster management measures, he added.
