President Anura Kumara Dissanayake clarified in Parliament today (7) that no agreement has been finalised or signed with the United States regarding the reduction of reciprocal tariffs on Sri Lankan exports to 20%.

The President said that talks have already begun with the United States aimed at further lowering the tariff rate.

He also added that there is a need to exempt certain HS Codes and that a decision will be made following discussions with the relevant parties.
