The National People’s Power (NPP) government has appointed 37 advisors to support the President, the Prime Minister, and seven Cabinet ministers.

The information was provided to Parliament in response to a question raised by opposition lawmaker Dayasiri Jayasekara.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has named 10 advisors for the Ministry of Digital Economy and 14 for the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education.

All advisors serving the President and Prime Minister work voluntarily, with no salaries or allowances, while the Prime Minister’s advisory team is composed entirely of education specialists.

Additional appointments include three advisors each for Industries Minister Sunil Handunnetti and Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake, and two for Science and Technology Minister Prof. Krishantha Abeysena.
