SLFP general secretary Duminda Dissanayake says that people who had voted the NPP to power now admit that they have been badly deceived.
Addressing a media briefing at the SLFP headquarters, Dissanayake called on former SLFP members who had defected to return, announcing that the party would begin internal reforms starting today (19).
He noted that the SLFP aims to form a government that keeps its promises, since people know by now that the incumbent one has done nothing at all.
LFP senior vice president Mahinda Amaraweera said the claim by those in power now of a 76-year curse is proving that they had acquired their wealth during that period.
The former agriculture minister also took aim at the government’s agricultural policies, criticising its increasing reliance on food imports from India and Bangladesh while local farmers continue to suffer.
