In a continuing resignation spree at state institutions, chairman of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Chinthaka Hewapathirana too has tendered his resignation.

Previously, Senesh Bandara Dissanayake left the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and Ramal Siriwardena stepped down as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, followed by the chairman of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) Monti Ranatunga.
