PC polls unlikely next year too!

With the provincial councils election act invalidated now, the PC election is unlikely to take place next year, according to government sources.

The government has decided not to reintroduce proportional representation that was abolished by its predecessor.

It said that since the previous election system was opposed by the public, a new system has been introduced at a huge cost with the appointment of a select committee.

That system too, is not operational at present.

Since a decision is not possible within a short period, the government has decided to take a decision with regard to the PCs under it proposed new constitution.
