Minister Vijitha Herath says that when the vehicle market is reopened in the future, the import of vehicles will be carried out systematically in several stages, considering the amount of foreign reserves.

He said that the tax rates have been changed for vehicle imports and that vehicles will be imported subject to a certain limit.

Noting that the price of imported vehicles will also increase with the increase in tax rates, he added that there is a possibility that the price of some vehicles will decrease due to the competition that arises with the arrival of new vehicles.
