Electricity consumers have proposed that electricity rates should be reduced by between twenty and thirty percent.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) states that this proposal was made after consulting the public opinion covering the entire island for the revision of electricity rates.

Accordingly, the Commission is preparing to announce the final decision on electricity rates for the first six months of the year before the end of this week, taking into account the proposals and ideas submitted in the future.
