A cabinet subcommittee has been appointed for a mere 10 solar panel projects even though around 2,000 entrepreneurs are registered under the Sustainable Energy Authority, alleged the electricity consumers association.

Speaking to the media yesterday (05) in Moratuwa, secretary of the association Sanjeewa Dhammika questioned the purpose of this committees and wanted to know as to what would happen to the other entrepreneurs.

He urged authorities to answer that question, and also raised the solar energy transmission cost of Rs. 233 billion.

Dhammika calculated an interest-free cost of production at Rs. 38.63 per unit, and said that with a Rs. 18 addition, the actual price would be Rs. 56.68.
