Rise in motorcycle and three-wheeler thefts

Police have reported a notable increase in motorcycle and three-wheeler robberies in Colombo city and across the Western Province, raising security concerns in public areas.

Over the past few days, authorities have received a significant number of complaints regarding thefts of motorcycles and three-wheelers parked along public roads. 

In the last two days alone, 10 motorcycles and three three-wheelers were reported stolen in the Western Province, police said.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F. U. Wootler, the Police Media Spokesman, said that special investigation teams have been deployed to probe the incidents and apprehend those responsible.
