“Sri Lanka is without a political leadership”

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa’s official trip to India this week immediately after prime minister Harini Amarasuriya tour to New Delhi has gained significant interest in political circles.

He failed to meet premier Narendra Modi, but held talks with foreign minister S. Jaishankar.

Sri Lanka is without a political leadership, he said, adding the economy looks good at present, but things would become difficult once debt repayments begin in 2028.
