The State Veterinary Surgeons’ Association commenced a token strike this morning (9), citing alleged interference by the Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture in efforts to establish a separate service constitution for veterinary professionals.

The strike, which began at 6:00 a.m., is expected to impact animal healthcare and veterinary services across a range of state institutions, including government veterinary offices, zoological gardens, the Department of Wildlife Conservation, and animal quarantine stations at key entry points such as ports and airports.
