Only two out of every five Sri Lankans were computer-literate in 2024, according to new data released by the Department of Census and Statistics, raising fresh concerns over the country’s digital readiness.
The figures reveal that 64.1% of the population remain unable to use a computer.
Noting that computer literacy rate remained shockingly low, the Department said the computer literacy rate had fallen by 3.1 percentage points compared to 2023.
