A complaint has been filed with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over the recent auctioning of vehicles attached to the Presidential Secretariat.

The complaint, submitted by the Chairman of the Swarnabhoomi National Movement, Asanka Ruwan Pothupitiya, alleges serious financial discrepancies in the auction process, citing that the vehicles were sold at values significantly below their estimated market worth.

He also pointed out that the reduced valuations have led to a substantial loss in potential government revenue, raising concerns over transparency and due diligence in the disposal of state assets.

Pothupitiya urged CIABOC to launch an immediate investigation into the auction procedure and the valuation methods used and also called for a temporary suspension of any future auctions pending the outcome of the inquiry.
