Even the present government could have racketeers within its ranks, but the difference now is that no one comes forward for their rescue as had been done in the past, said minister K.D. Lalkantha.
Addressing the launch of a ‘’Vaarimahima’ irrigation programme, he said the NPP was an extensive alliance, the JVP being one affiliate.
If not for the NPP coming power, none of the politicians and their cronies, S.M. Chandrasena and his wife for an example, would never have been sent behind bars for their wrongdoings, he added.
