Former public security minister Tiran Alles yesterday (05) received several telephone calls from an underworld leader in hiding in Dubai, threatening him with death.
The caller has referred to Alles’ instructions during his ministerial tenure to bring back home all the underworld figures who had fled the country.
The acting IGP has notified the relevant police divisions and an investigation is underway into the death threats against Alles.
