Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, has assured that the government remains committed to fulfilling its election promises over the five-year term, stressing that ample time remains to achieve its goals.

“The people gave us a five-year mandate. We still have sufficient time to deliver on our promises. The government, including the President, is fully dedicated to this task,” he affirmed.

Addressing the media, Abeysinghe also highlighted ongoing negotiations with the United States regarding tariff reductions.

“Although we have secured relatively low tariffs compared to other regions, discussions continue to further reduce them. A delegation is ready to leave to ensure the best outcome,” he added.
