The government has promised to the UN Human Rights Council to divide the Sri Lankan state constitutionally, alleged NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa yesterday (08).

Its delegation to the UNHRC session also agreed to punish military officials by fabricating evidence that they had committee war crimes, he also charged.

Speaking to the media at his office, Weerawansa said Sri Lanka indirectly stood alongside the resolution against it by not asking for a vote.

The permanent representative expressed agreement to set up a truth commission and an indictable office and activate the missing persons office.

While rejecting an international inquiry, the permanent representative expressed readiness for a domestic inquiry, he noted.

The aim is to file cases on false charges and rule that military officials committed war crimes, added the NFF leader.
