Industries Minister Sunil Handunnetti says he will expose in a matter of days the few finance ministry officials who solicit bribes from liquor businesses.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will be given a report about them as well, he said.
This bribe-taking in effect has resulted in high liquor prices, and those officials with the old political habits don’t allow a solution.
Handunnetti levelled the charges during a speech in parliament yesterday (06).
President Dissanayake currently holds the finance portfolio.
