Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Buddhika Manatunga said today that reports of his resignation from the position of police media spokesperson are false.

Speaking to the media, Manatunga said that he had requested a transfer due to personal reasons.

Noting that police officers cannot shirk their responsibilities once assigned, he said that he will continue to work as the police spokesperson until a suitable appointment is made by the National Police Commission and relevant authorities.
