Minor incidents like fuel queues shouldn’t be considered as national problems – Deputy Minister

Small incidents like sudden power outages and fuel queues should not be blown out of proportion to an extent where such disruptions are considered as major national issues, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Namal Karunarathna said.

The Deputy Minister’s remarks came in response to a media query following an event, where he was asked if the country is entering another era of fuel shortages.

“Sometimes, minor issues like disruptions to the electricity supply and communication breakdowns may occur unexpectedly. But such minor incidents can’t be turned into national issues,” he said.

The Deputy Minister reassured the public that there is no cause for concern and that such incidents are part of the normal course of daily life, with no significant national impact.
