Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Industries and Enterprise Development said that nearly 13,700 businesses across the country have been affected by the recent disaster.

According to data received by the Industry Disaster Support Centre, a total of 13,698 enterprises have reported damage.

Of those, 5,639 are micro-scale businesses, 4,636 are small-scale enterprises, 2,986 are medium-scale operations and 437 are large-scale businesses, the ministry said.

The Ministry urged all affected industrialists to submit their details to the official data system as soon as possible, noting that the deadline for submissions is 2 pm on December 16.

Authorities said timely reporting is critical to assess losses and coordinate support measures.

Business owners can enter their information through the ministry’s website at www.industry.gov.lk.

To assist those who may have difficulty accessing the online system, the Ministry has also set up a dedicated telephone line at 071-266-6660 to collect information about affected industries.

Industrialists can also seek assistance from ministry officials stationed at Divisional Secretariat and District Secretariat offices in the areas where their businesses operate, the statement said.
