A total of 257 people have died in drowning incidents across the country so far this year, according to figures released by the police.
Police Media Spokesperson, ASP F.U. Wutler said that the fatalities include 220 men and 37 women.
While the death toll remains deeply concerning, police also highlighted the lifesaving work carried out by the Police Lifeguard Division.
Officers have rescued 69 local and 33 foreign tourists from drowning-related incidents this year.
