Sri Lanka’s nationwide postal strike has entered its sixth consecutive day, with no sign of resolution as union leaders raise concerns over the alleged unauthorised removal of mailbags.

Chinthaka Bandara, co-convener of the United Postal Trade Union Front, said legal action would be pursued over the incident at the Central Mail Exchange, where mailbags were reportedly removed without official sanction.

The strike, launched on Sunday (17), involves over 19 demands, including calls for improved working conditions and reforms within the postal service.

Thousands of postal workers have joined the industrial action, disrupting mail delivery across the country.
