Prof. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri says a curse will befall the government in the event it goes ahead with its proposed educational reforms, which he alleges, have been decided in a wrong-minded, irrational manner.
Of the Colombo University’s history department, he says in a video on social media that he vehemently opposes making history and citizenship education non-mandatory and demands to know the basis for that.
He challenged education minister, PM Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, for a public debate on the matter.
