Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has expressed his support for the NPP proposal seeking the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, who is currently in remand custody and suspended from his duties.
Premadasa reiterated his support for the move during a workshop held in Kandy yesterday (25) for SJB candidates set to contest the upcoming local government elections.
He noted that the Wickremesinghe-Rajapaksa government appointed Tennakoon as IGP despite his opposition at the Constitutional Council when the matter was discussed.
