The FSP has suggested recovering the seven billion US dollar damage to the island as a result of cyclone Ditwah from the US, China, Russia, European Union and other countries that harm the environment most as a form of compensation.
Its education secretary Pubudu Jayagoda told the media in Colombo that small donations in an attempt to evade responsibility are out of question and the richest countries responsible for the devastation should compensate satisfactorily.
Those countries proven to be the biggest environment polluters opposed every time rest of the world tried to bring in policies to minimize global warming, which has risen by 2.2 Celsius by now, he added.
