A proposal to increase the rent charged from members of parliament for their official residences in Madiwela has been rejected.
The parliamentary committee on housing has rejected this proposal.
Accordingly, the monthly rent for a housing unit is set to continue at Rs. 2,000.
The Madiwela Housing Complex consists of 120 housing units, each with a floor area of 900 sq ft, featuring three bedrooms, a pantry, a living/dining area, a servant’s toilet, and a parking space.
